Case study

HustleOn

A new design and one inbox for a local-services marketplace in the GTA, built into the site it already runs on.

HustleOn connects people in the Greater Toronto Area with local Hustlers for cleaning, lawn care, painting, electrical work and more. Its bookings and payments already worked, so we kept them and redesigned what people see, in HustleOn's own code. The new design went live on October 29, 2026.

The homepage

The headline stays. It now sits next to a service search, popular categories and the promise that matters to a customer: pay when it's done.

63 new category photos

Every category now has a new photo in a natural, everyday style: ordinary homes and ordinary clothes.

One place for messages

Conversations used to live inside each listing or job. Since November 4, 2026, they're all on one page.

What search engines read

The site told Google the same thing on every page. Now each kind of page says what it is.

We loaded the same 14 public pages in a browser on October 26, 2026 (old site) and November 4, 2026 (new site) and read each page's title and description. Speed and AI answers weren't measured before the change, so they aren't compared here.

The website

  • Every public page redesigned: home, services, categories, Hustler profiles, FAQ, about, contact, sign-in and the legal pages.
  • Layouts that work on phones.
  • A booking card that tells customers exactly what's still missing before they hire.
  • Bookings, payments and accounts kept as they were.

Messages

  • One page for every conversation, whether it's a question about a service or a booked job.
  • Unread counts in the menu and on each conversation.
  • New messages appear without reloading the page.
  • Available to customers and Hustlers alike.

The other pages

Every public page got the same care as the homepage. Here are five of them.
