Case study

Xiaoli Health

Outreach on LinkedIn for a Mandarin medical companion in Toronto, from the founder's own account to GTA dental clinics.

Xiaoli Health (小李陪诊) goes with Mandarin-speaking patients to their doctor's appointments across Toronto and the GTA: preparing questions, helping with communication, arranging rides home after procedures, and writing a Chinese summary of each visit. Its founder, Phoenix, wanted to meet dental clinics whose patients often speak Chinese. We ran a one-month campaign on LinkedIn from his own account.

The campaign in numbers

September 10 to October 10, 2026. LinkedIn only, sent from Phoenix's own profile.

  1. 300Connection requests sent
  2. 84Accepted28% of requests
  3. 76Messaged after accepting
  4. 24Replied31.6% of those messaged
  5. 12Interested in talking50% of replies
  6. 5Booked a Zoom meeting41.7% of those interested

One campaign, for one client and one audience. These are its results, not a forecast for other campaigns: we don't guarantee replies or meetings.

Counted from the campaign's LinkedIn activity from September 10 to October 10, 2026. A reply is any answer to a message; interested means the clinic asked to talk or to hear more. The funnel's widths show the order of the steps, not their size; the numbers are the counts.

Who we contacted

  • Dental clinics in Markham, Richmond Hill, Scarborough and North York whose patients often speak Chinese, picked by their Chinese-language reviews and Chinese-speaking staff.
  • At each clinic, the owner or the office manager: the people who decide whom the clinic recommends.
  • Family doctors and specialists come next, in a second campaign.

Who did what

  • Connu built the list of clinics and wrote the messages. Phoenix approved both before anything was sent.
  • Every message went from Phoenix's own LinkedIn profile, at a careful daily pace.
  • Phoenix answered the replies himself and booked the Zoom meetings.

Four messages over two weeks

Nothing in the sequence sells. Each step gives the clinic a reason to answer.

  1. Day 1

    A connection request

No pitch: Phoenix goes with Chinese-speaking patients to clinics like theirs across the GTA every day, and wanted to connect.

  2. When they accept

The problem the clinic already has

Chinese-speaking patients who miss appointments, or drop out because they couldn't follow the treatment plan, with one short example from a dental visit.

  3. Day 4

    One easy question

Roughly what share of their patients speak Chinese?

  4. Day 10

    A low-pressure close

Phoenix's WeChat, in case it is useful later.

We provide Mandarin-speaking medical accompaniment. We used to find every client through word of mouth and referrals from patients and their families. Partnering with clinics felt out of reach: there are hundreds of clinics across the GTA, and I could never get to them all on my own. Connu ran outreach from my LinkedIn account, and in the first month I was talking with the people in charge at dozens of dental clinics and had booked several meetings. Clinic partnerships have become our second growth channel, and I spend almost no time on it myself.

What came of the meetings

Phoenix is following up the five meetings with the clinics. We will add here how many agreed to refer patients, and how many patients they referred, once it is known.
